About Barbara Heyn
Barbara Heyn is the founder of Atticus Consulting, LLC. She has partnered with executives and professionals across multiple industries and countries for over 15 years. Barbara specializes in building leadership capacity, developing effective teams, providing communications skills training and facilitating organizational change. She has consulted in corporate and non-profit sectors, as well as higher education. She enjoys advising leaders on ways to build trust, accomplish results and affect positive change. Her underpinning philosophy is that of ethics, collaboration and professional growth. Clients have described her approach as practical, intuitive and effective.
Barbara earned a B.A. in Psychology from the University of Michigan and a Master’s Degree in Labor and Industrial Relations from Michigan State University. She is certified in Organization Development from National Training Laboratories, Institute for Applied Behavioral Sciences. Her assessment certifications include: MBTI, Firo-B, Thomas Kilmann Inventory (TKI), Team Performance Inventory, LIFO, DISC and Strong Interest Inventory. She is a member of the National Association of Female Executives as well as the American Society for Training and Development.
While raising three sons, Barbara enjoys a busy life in Cincinnati, Ohio. She has volunteered with the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center and the Jewish Federation, and has served on the boards of non-profit organizations. An avid reader, she also enjoys international travel, theatre, swimming and classic movies.
